It took me a bit to get the Facebook portion working, but finally did....I am tempted to make a BBF account though so it doesn't show up at being posted by Paco each time. At least it's another way to stay up to date on clan news.


What fixed it? Had to update a table in the database with our group ID...but apparently it doesn't take effect until I save settings...so it must have been in SQL memory or something....

I thought this was an interesting read from Notch's Blog (Notch was the main programmer and developer for the popular game Minecraft). He explains how he thought he was the best programmer, but has taken some time to reflect on his self-taught skills during and after Minecraft:

The Word of Notch


Notch previously worked on many smaller games, but also the MMO WURM Online. He has handed the game development for Minecraft over to Jen's, who works for Notch's company Mojang. Since then, it seems like he has been taking a break, but wants to pick up a new project.

Just what type of new project might Notch come up with? Some would hope he would 'finish' Minecraft before moving on, but whatever he does I'm sure it will have some followers watching closely as he starts a new project.


Admitting that he has a lot to learn as a programmer is good. As many who play Minecraft know, the game demands a lot of resources from your machine for what many would call poor graphics and textures. A big part of this is probably due to it being programmed in Java, but also because it is an indie game developed by a self-taught programmer without the big fancy studio, team of developers, designers, etc.

I do hope that Notch decides to learn more to improve upon his programming skills. It is obvious that the games he has worked on really have character and provide a unique experience missing from many games.

I will keep an eye on his blog and post any interesting future updates that might pop up.

• Responsible for enforcing the Clan Charter as well as in game rules and policies
• Responsible for reporting all violations of Clan Charter to Colonel Regiment Commander (RC)
• Responsible for issuing warnings and documenting them using the Officers forum, Roll Call reports, and PMs to RC
• Responsible for sending any in game rule or policy changes to the Colonel Regiment Commander (RC) for approval. Must also be a sticky within game forum
• Responsible for the productivity of assigned game and it's members
• Responsible for ensuring all game duties are being performed effectively and on schedule

Akkim has been very active in SWTOR with BBF, most recently in the position of CGC. As CGC Akkim was instrumental in assisting our first Operations group through clearing the 8-man normal version of both Eternity Vault and Karagga's Palace. Akkim has plenty of experience with leading guilds, having done so in the past with Star Wars: Galaxies and many other titles. His active schedule in the game and his proven leadership abilities will be beneficial in the efforts to make Baptized by Fire a force to be reckoned with on the Vulkar Highway server.
